A story told is like a drop in our vast sea of humanity – each drop rippling out without the teller ever knowing where it may end up; or how one day, well traveled, it may come back to her.
In 2015 I started a journey of discovery in the world of story. I’ve always delighted in the sheer escapism of a fictional story – transporting me to a far off land where anything is possible and somehow things seems so much clearer.
More recently, as I’ve worked increasingly closely with different people and organisations I have been moved by the connection and power of our personal stories as well. I’ve watched trust blossom in difficult spaces as individuals have taken the time to listen deeply and walk around in another’s story….often recognizing themselves there. I have found that telling your own story is an act of both self reflection and other connection. It is truly the art of being human together.
